When the electric motor is disconnected from the mains at the same time, the control interrupts the coil current and the electromagnet stops working. In this way, the pressure springs expel the armature towards the rear engine cover. The inserts inserted in the brake disc are compacted between two important friction surfaces, which are the armature and the cap, and brake the engine until it rests. When the motor is connected to the mains, the coil is fed and the armature is pulled against the electromagnet shell, obtaining the resistance of the springs.
When these loosened, they move axially in their housings, moving away from the friction surfaces. This ends the braking action, allowing the motor to start free. The braking system allows three connection systems, and slow, medium and fast braking.
During slow braking, the brake coil rectifier bridge power is supplied from the motor terminals without any pause. In medium braking, a contact is interleaved for the resting of the power supply of the rectifier bridge in the circuit. In rapid braking the contact is interleaved for interruption in one of the coil feed wires.
